Microsoft is expanding its Minecraft-related holdings, by offering a version of the open world construction game for educational users. After acquiring the existing MinecraftEdu project that offered a version of Minecraft aimed at the classroom, Microsoft is launching a new version called Minecraft: Education Edition this summer, a variant which is said to offer an "expanded set of features" compared to MinecraftEdu.
