Future iPhones could be made more resistant to water, if a patent application is put into practice. Recently published by the US Patent and Trademark Office, the applicationconcerning "Electronic Devices with Housing Port Shutters" aims to make devices able to survive against splashes and potential immersion by using electronically-controlled shutters, restricting the amount of water entering the device and ruining important components.
