Some owners of consumer drones will need to be registered before being able to fly the remote-controlled aircraft in the future, the US Department of Transportation (DoT) has advised. Announced yesterday, a task force is being set up to help create the registration process, as well as to decide which unmanned craft will be exempt from registration, and to streamline existing registration requirements for commercial drone operators.
