Just as you used to have to use Microsoft Word if you were a writer, so you had to use Final Draft if you were a screenwriter. Those days are gone, and software that was once the undisputed standard is now disputed, and needs to hold on to its status through merit as well as momentum. Final Draft 9 makes some attempts to do this, but primarily hangs on to its traditional and core strengths.
