Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba has updated its Alipay app for iPhone and iPad today, now including support for TouchID. Mobile payments made with an iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus can now be verified with a fingerprint instead of a password, similar to Apple Pay. Apple CEO Tim cook indicated in October that he and Alibaba executive chairman Jack Ma would be discussing the potential for a partnership, with speculation at that time focused on Apple Pay and Alipay integration on Alibaba, Taobao and Tmall.
