Today, I got a sneak peak at a very early version of Tim Roadley's "Learning Core Data." Expected to publish late November, this book by the Australia-based iOS developer introduces Core Data for those entirely new to the subject.
Like other books in Pearson's "Learning" series, the Core Data volume grows around a single project (a grocery shopping tool) that expands chapter-by-chapter. What starts off as a very basic database grows to include photos ("it would be great if you could take a photo of that obscure brand of coffee you love so much"), cloud support, and web service integration.
The chapters broke down sensibly, with big topics like performance tuning and searching each given their proper due. I found Roadley's voice pleasant to read (although he does suffer a
