PCMag.com has run a review of Apple's new AirPort Extreme Base Station and they're very impressed. In keeping with Apple tradition they found the router featured the company's standard easy installation, complete with wireless setup. The base station is an upgrade from previous models to 802.11ac and marked excellent performance particularly in the 2.4 GHz band. in addition the AirPort Extreme's sleek redesign gives it improved wireless speed while staying fashionable.
When stacked against of some of its competition the AirPort Extreme Base Station 802.11ac wireless wasn't quite as fast, but it's worth noting that PCMag still got 90 to 102 Mbps out of the base station. The reviewers were annoyed that the router lacked stronger data
