Avid has announced Pro Tools 11, the next version of its high-end audio production software. The update concentrates mainly on speed; it for instance uses a new audio engine, which is said to offer "multiple times" the performance for Pro Tools 10. Along the same lines, the app has converted to 64-bit architecture, gained offline bounce and a low-latency input buffer, and enabled dynamic host processing, which should allow more simultaneous plugins.
