Though it shares a name with a completely different full-sized iPad case, Tek-nical for iPad mini ($40) is the only new design in its iPad mini case lineup, and pretty neat-looking. The shell of the folio is hard plastic, made to evoke the look of carbon fiber, while the front is a reinforced microsuede lid. On the back is a metal tab, which lifts up to hold the cover in place for viewing and typing angles, and serves as a really cool visual element.
