Amazon is now shipping one of the least expensive third-party Lightning cables on the market, the AmazonBasics USB A to Lightning Compatible Cable ($15). Ringing up at $4 less then Apple's own cable, it's just about an inch longer, measuring 42.5" from end to end, despite Amazon's claim that it's only three feet long.
