Imitating an insect's set of numerous "eyes," Toshiba has come up with a phone-sized camera module that may offer users the ability to take "light-field" photos which can be refocused later, the company says. While the module, which comprises some 500,000 tiny lenses, is too thick to go into a super-thin device such as the iPhone 5, further refinement could make it possible to fit the module into future smartphones, and even capture video.
