As of Christmas Eve, some US customers are having issues with Netflix streaming, due to an issue with Amazon Web Services -- specifically the data center in northern Virginia that was also responsible for taking down a number of popular sites last summer. The problems began being reported after 4PM EST, and at this hour Amazon is still reporting some issues with CloudSearch and Elastic Load Balancing issues at the center that may continue to affect customers.
