HighPoint Technologies has announced the availability of their second generation SATA 4x PCIe 6Gb/s storage controllers -- the Rocket and RocketRAID 640L series. Both the RocketRaid and Rocket 600 series has four SATA or eSATA ports in internal, external and hybrid port-configurations, and are capable of supporting point-to-point and port-multiplier based storage devices. All five cards in the 640-series are Windows, Macintosh, and Linux compatible.
