The Samsung Galaxy S III took the number one position as the top selling smartphone in Q3, according to new research conducted by Strategy Analytics. The company estimated that Samsung sold 18 million Galaxy S IIIís during the quarter. The Apple iPhone 4S came in second, with 16.2 million sales, despite strong rumors about the iPhone 5 putting a significant dent in iPhone sales for the quarter.
