In the span of seven days, Apple is holding an event widely speculated to be the launch of the iPad mini, Microsoft's Windows 8 is launching accompanied with the Surface RT tablet, and today Google sent out invitations for an event in New York City on October 29 on the same day the Windows Phone is released. Rumored to be at the event are new Nexus hardware items, possibly both a tablet and a phone. Also speculated is an update to Android, version 4.2, bringing security updates amongst other features.
