In a move that looks hopeful for the American market, Apple has vowed to stop fixing ebook prices in Europe, Macworld reports. As part of the agreement, Apple will terminate the agency-pricing agreements with the five companies involved in the European antitrust suit: Hachette Livre, Harper Collins, Simon & Schuster, Penguin and MacMillan. Apple first offered to settle in April.
As part of the settlement, Apple said it will allow retailers to set ebook prices in European markets for two years.
