Quark has released a public preview of DesignPad, a tool that can help teach the fundamentals of grid-based design. Through the use of multi-touch gestures, users can experiment with different layouts for standard document types such as ads, posters, newsletters, and brochures. Every layout element can be manipulated by the user, including text, images, and colors. Projects can also be shared via e-mail or Twitter, as well as transferred to QuarkXPress for further customization.
