App Store opens 'Food & Drink' category, boasts 2,800 apps

After announcing the change to developers 10 days ago, Apple has taken the new "Food & Drink" category of the App Store live. The new section, accessible from the main page, features some 2,800 apps related to cooking, recipe management, cocktail, wine and spirits guides, restaurant ratings and related matters. Previously, such apps were relegated to either the "Lifestyle" or "Travel" sections, and some food-related apps remain there.
