The Google Places iOS app has been rebranded as Google+ Local and now offers both voice search and Zagat ratings. The app breaks down locations around a user into several categories, such as restaurants, hotels, and bars. Tapping on a category brings up a list of all the businesses in a user's surrounding area and provides contact information, directions, and reviews for each. In addition to the new voice search functionally, the update has also improved the method for searching for places that aren't nearby, and switched to the OAuth2 login for improved security.
