Sprint has confirmed that, as reported previously, Virgin Mobile will become the next US prepaid iPhone carrier. The company is planning to charge substantially more for devices than rival Cricket Wireless; whereas Cricket will sell an 8GB iPhone 4 for $400, and a 16GB iPhone 4S for $500, the same devices will cost $549 and $649 through Virgin. Virgin subscribers will however have access to cheaper monthly plans when the iPhone becomes available to them on June 29th.
