Google's Sergey Brin offered a follow-up early Wednesday that downplayed his criticism of Apple and Facebook. He stressed that he wasn't equating native apps and proprietary web code with the same level of threat as posed by government censorship. Either of Google's main competitors had some quality he valued and had done much for the industry.
