Apple has dropped another patent from a Chicago-based lawsuit against Motorola, a FOSS Patents report says. In particular Apple has dropped '337, covering a "method and apparatus for distributing events in an operating system." The judge in the case, Richard Posner, has been telling both Apple and Motorola that he wants the companies to "winnow" their claims; at one point the case was up to 15 Apple and six Motorola patents, but those amounts have been reduced to roughly a third.
