Microsoft has tried to bring its "Smoked by Windows Phone" contests to the mainstream with a new contest at its retail stores. Customers from now until March 29 can visit a Microsoft Store and see if their existing smartphone is faster at accomplishing certain kinds of tasks, such as posting to a social network, faster than Windows Phone hardware. Those that win get a Hunger Games edition HP Folio 13 ultrabook worth $1,000, but those that lose still get a chance to trade for a free Windows Phone, including anything in the store save for a Lumia 800 bundle.
