Archos set a new floor for mainstream tablets Thursday by previewing the Child Pad. The seven-inch tablet is expected to cost just $129, $70 less than even the Kindle Fire, but would still promise Android 4.0. Its child focus comes through an OS design that's meant to safeguard younger users through a filter, provide an easy-to-follow visual theme, and child-oriented apps both for games and for education.
