JVC has announced the world's first handheld 4K camcorder, the GY-HMQ10. The GY-HMQ10 uses JVC's on-camera Falconbrid Large-Scale Integration processing to deBayer RAW images from the camera's 8.3 million-pixel CMOS sensor in real time. Unlike other 4K cameras, such as RED's Scarlet-X 4K camera system, the GY-HMQ10 can output live 4K via four HDMI terminals to a monitor or projection system with almost no latency. JVC claims the camcorder is the first to be able to capture, process, display and record 4K images in real time.
