Sony hoped to solve a common problem of linking an iPhone or iPod touch to a stock car audio system on Thursday with its Digital Link Sound System. At their heart, both the core XDP-MU110 and more elaborate XDP-PK1000 provide both a cradle for the Apple device as well as a DSP Master Unit that balances the audio and reportedly improves quality over the often basic processing in the car. Listeners can tune three settings to produce better acoustics depending on the vehicle, whether it's a coupe or an SUV.
