Verizon's long-hinted at tiered smartphone data plans could go live early next month but potentially with lower expectations than AT&T. A new scoop Monday has plans starting off at 2GB for $30 per month, abandoning unlimited and costing $5 more than AT&T's own price for the same amount. Extra data would have the same prices as it does on tablets and other data devices, Droid-Life heard, starting at $50 a month for 5GB and $80 for 10GB.
