Twitter's imminent self-run photo service may be a necessary preamble to deep integration with iOS 5, more than one source reportedly mentioned Tuesday night. Apple is said to be baking in an option to share photos on Twitter directly from the mobile platform, much in the same way content can be shared to MobileMe, YouTube, and other platforms today. TechCrunch noted that, without a service of its own, Twitter would have had to let Apple use a service like Lockerz or yFrog that neither side could control.
