What began as a Kickstarter community project to design a top-quality watchband for the current-generation iPod Nano -- an idea that has spawned countless imitators -- has arrived in the big time, with the LunaTik and TikTok designs now becoming available at Apple Stores across North America, GigaOM reports. Designer Scott Wilson unintentionally set a record on Kickstarter when enthusiastic backers in 50 countries contributed almost $1 million in crowd-sourced funding, a record for the service and more than $945,000 over his original goal.
