Apple showed the best performance of any smartphone manufacturer during the first quarter of 2011, says research firm IHS iSuppli. The company's 18.6 million iPhones represented a 14.9 percent growth over the 16.2 million it sold in Q4 2010. The second-best growth by contrast was displayed by HTC with a distant 6.2 percent, leaving it at fifth place in terms of marketshare versus Apple's second.
