While styluses are rarely used with most iOS devices, there are situations where they can provide fine drawing abilities beyond what is normally possible with a finger. In particular, styluses are useful where electronic signatures need to be collected, such as for shipping delivery, medical or photographic release forms among other examples. Ten One Design, who make capacitive touch-screen styluses, have developed the Autograph iOS Library for creating and capturing digital signatures that works with XCode and can be incorporated into enterprise or iOS applications.
