Apple has asked for an antitrust lawsuit -- brought on by complaints that linking iPod music downloading to iTunes was anti-competitive -- to be dismissed, arguing that the move to exclude third-party software from being able to download music directly to iPods wasn't anti-competitive, but done to ensure high quality between Apple's hardware and software, Bloomberg reports.
