Samsung kept up the attention to mobile on Wednesday night with new additions to memory and an external Blu-ray drive. The Korean company confirmed that it had just started shipping four gigabit (512MB) LPDDR2 (low-power double data rate 2) RAM for devices like smartphones and tablets. The 30 nanometer technology doubles what had been possible before and either allows a slimmer, smaller phone in the same size or more memory without having to compromise the design.
