The Neat Company has released an update to its Mac scanning software, NeatWorks for Mac v3.5. The software works with both of the company's scanners, the NeatDesk for Mac and the mobile NeatReceipts for Mac. The scanning software uses optical character recognition and parsing technology to scan information on receipts, business cards and documents, then extracts data to create expense reports, complete tax forms, add to contact lists and track spending. The v3.5 update adds more income tax support, with a new tax report function that rolls up tax-deductible expenses
