Instagram helped kick off the start of South by Southwest with a pair of updates to its iPhone app (free, App Store). The social photo app now has a tilt-shift filter, producing much the same miniature effect as a Lensbaby in software. The news feed has been reworked as well and both shows more information as well as activity that affects users that haven't been followed, opening the door to discovering other members.
