A recently-published Apple patent application may suggest interest in dynamic video ringtones for the iPhone. In a basic scheme, a video clip would be associated with calls from a particular contact. Rather than simply play the clip unmodified, however, a phone could analyze an associated audio file, using it to modify the original video with effects like framerate changes or even resequencing. The resulting second clip would better match audio in terms of beats, amplitude and/or frequency.
