The discovery of Microsoft India researcher Manoj Manduva's portfolio has given clues as to some of the interface features that may show in Windows 8. The proposal would include multiple virtual desktops that would include an "advanced desktop mode." Its basic template would appear to be a reaction to Spaces in Mac OS X, which itself was refining concepts already in use in Linux and Unix.
