App Store approaches 400,000 accepted apps

Apple is on the verge of reaching 400,000 submitted iOS apps, notes Asymco's Horace Dediu, quoting tracking website 148Apps. Over 390,000 apps have been uploaded to Apple so far, at a rate of just under 1,000 new titles per day since 2008. Dediu points out that Apple has not actually hit 400,000 in sales, since roughly 65,000 apps are no longer active, pulled either by Apple or the developers.
