TUAW blogger and developer Erica Sadun has come up with a program called AirFlick that allows users to stream video from a Mac to a current-generation AppleTV outside of iTunes, allowing compatible internet videos to work and offering the potential for on-the-fly transcoding of other formats without modifying or "jailbreaking" the Apple TV or any other device. The software is in "Alpha" release at the moment but is functional.
