Following on from our recent report on Old Navy testing an Apple-based point-of-sale (POS) system based on the technology used in Apple's own retail stores, other companies are developing similar systems that also use iOS devices to manage purchase, authorization and even inventory-control transactions at nearly every level of business need, from small vendors accepting bank cards all the way to large-scale retailers who need their POS software to interface with a variety of back-end systems, AppleInsider reports.
