Acer's mobile lead Aymar de Lencquesaing in an interview today warned that the whole smartphone industry, not just Acer, was facing a shortage. A rush in demand was leaving Acer with difficulty meeting orders. He acknowledged to Reuters that Acer was still a small influence in the industry but contended that its experience was the sign of a trend.
