Apple has won a US patent on a form of 3D display technology, says IDG News. Documents describe what is called an "autostereoscopic" method, in which the 3D illusion works without glasses. Requiring glasses, Apple argues, ultimately limits the appeal of 3D, and moreover makes it difficult or impossible to share the same experience with other people.
