RIM's co-CEO Jim Balsillie at the Web 2.0 Summit today argued that there was "no need for native mobile apps." In referring to the company's PlayBook versus iPad demo video, the Canadian executive argued that "all you need is the web." He stressed that the AIR and Flash foundations, the dual-core processor and the heavily multi-core aware BlackBerry Tablet OS meant the web would work and the "appification" of the web would come to an end in favor of standards.
