Apple claims $500M supply deal, $4B in capex plans

Apple has signed a $500 million supply agreement, and is planning on making $4 billion in capital expenditures, says UBS analyst Maynard Um. The information comes from a talk with Apple management, although executives didn't elaborate on a partner or partners in the supply deal, or what the bulk of expenditures will consist of. Um suggests, however, that two of the largest pieces in the puzzle include expanded supply capacity, and the company's new North Carolina data center, the purpose of which could be revealed tomorrow.
