Apple has indeed suspended sales of slider cases for the iPhone 4 at its retail stores, a source in the case industry says. Reiterating claims made by others in a separate October report, the source says that Apple is worried that material trapped in a slider can cause scratches or cracks in the iPhone 4's rear glass. "If they didnít have a glass back they wouldnít have a problem," the source comments.
