Samsung mobile lead Shin Jong-kyun told Japan's Nikkei BP today that the company expects to ship 40 million smartphones in 2011. The number would double the 20 million Samsung is hoping for this year. Most of its effort would lean on the Galaxy S, about 10 million of which could be sold through all of 2010.
