Hitachi's G-Technology badge today unveiled what it believes is the world's thinnest external hard drive, the G-Drive Slim. The portable storage uses the already very thin Travelstar Z5K320 320GB drive to make an enclosure that's just 9.9mm (0.39in) tall and weighs just five ounces, making it easier to carry than most alternatives. G-Technology conceives of it as an ideal companion drive for a MacBook Air and gives it an aluminum shell that fits in with the look of most Macs.
