Bare Bones today launched BBEdit 9.6, upgrading the text and HTML editor with HTML5 support. The app incorporates built-in syntax checking for HTML5 documents, and an improved translate command that simplifies converting between HTML and plain text. Support for directory-specific settings has also been added, along with a new command-line option for creating projects. Some other changes to the app include an HTML5 syntax table, and Automator workflows in the Scripts menu.
