There is "much progress being made" towards the development of multi-touch Macs, says Kaufman analyst Shaw Wu, citing industry sources. With the debut of the Magic Trackpad for desktop systems, Wu describes a touchscreen Mac as the "next logical step" in the evolution of Apple's multi-touch support. "Large touchscreens and substrates have been prohibitively expensive," he writes, "but with the success of the iPad, price points have come down where it may make economic sense to use one for a Mac."
