Microsoft's rumored acquisition of Adobe isn't likely at all, tipsters said late Thursday. Calling the idea "nonsense," multiple insiders on either side ruled out the option. They didn't have deeper insight for AllThingsD on what was being discussed in the meeting between Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen and his Microsoft counterpart Steve Ballmer, but it's inferred that it would be a more conventional collaboration on incorporating Flash to compete with Apple.
